Your Mission
As Fire Safety Engineer in our newly established UK-focused TRACTEBEL entity, you will contribute to our mission by managing fire safety engineering activities for projects like Hinkley Point C, one of the world’s largest nuclear construction projects. You will work closely with project managers, fire experts, and clients to deliver effective and compliant fire safety solutions, aligning with TRACTEBEL’s role as a key player in the UK's nuclear industry.
Your Key Responsibilities
- You participate in feasibility, design, and modification studies for fire, explosion, and flooding protection installations.
- You conduct audits and diagnostics of fire safety systems, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- You perform calculations and simulations for fire, explosion, and flooding scenarios with support from senior engineers.
- You carry out risk analysis and recommend pragmatic solutions to meet project and client objectives.
- You validate coherence between required and existing protection systems.
- You integrate requirements from codes, standards, and project safety reports.
- You conduct on-site inspections and recommend safety adaptations.
- You manage procurement activities, including technical specification drafting, tender processes, and contract closure.
We Would Love to Hear from People with
- A Master’s degree in engineering, ideally in Mechanical, Fire Safety, or Nuclear Engineering.
- At least 3 years of experience as a fire safety engineer.
- Proficiency in fire safety and/or fluid mechanics modeling software (e.g., Magic, Sylvia, FDS/Pyrosim).
- Strong English language skills (French knowledge is an asset).
- Eligibility or possession of BPSS level clearance.
- Solid computer and data processing skills.
- Competency in drafting technical reports and papers.
