Work Environment 

We are looking for a Hydro mechanical engineer to support efficiently the expansion of our activities in Water infrastructures (such as Large & Small Hydroelectric Schemes, Dams, and Reservoirs, Water transfers, River Hydraulics), with a major focus on hydropower and dams’ projects. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality consulting and engineering projects, with a primary focus on hydropower and dam projects.

Our projects cover engineering studies, technical due diligences, assistance in project implementation through Owner’s Engineering (incl. Preparation of Tender Design and Specifications), and/or Engineering-Procurement-Construction Management assignments. While your projects are in the Southeast Asian countries with abroad missions possible, your base will be in Tractebel’s office in Bangkok, Thailand.

Missions

• You will report to Head of Water. 
• Lead the design, engineering, and analysis of hydro-mechanical components for various water infrastructure projects, including hydroelectric schemes, dams, reservoirs, and water transfer systems.
• Coordinate with project managers, clients, and contractors to ensure successful project delivery.
•  Participate in the development of project proposals and bids.
• Stay abreast of the latest industry best practices, technologies, and standards.
• Contribute to the development of innovative and sustainable water solutions.
• Adhere to all safety, environmental, and ethical guidelines.
• Prepare technical studies, design drawings, tender documents, and conduct design reviews with respect to the Technical Specifications and State of the Art.
• Oversee project execution, ensuring adherence to budgets, schedules, and quality standards.
• Conduct site visits and inspections during construction and commissioning to ensure project quality and compliance.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical engineering or related field. 
• Min 10 years of professional experience in the water engineering consulting, with a strong focus on hydropower and dam projects. 
• Proven expertise in the design and analysis of hydro-mechanical components (e.g. turbines, gates, valves, penstocks). 
• A sound technical background in water infrastructures, solid analytical skills allowing you to tackle the project technical challenges.
• Solid computer skills (Excel, Outlook, Word, AutoCAD, and multiple engineering design and document control software)Team player, target-oriented, determined, and responsible.
• Proficiency in Thai and English language.
• Ability to work in a multicultural team as well as with Contractors and Clients.
• Able to travel for short-term missions for project or training purposes. 
• Professional experiences in oversea projects are beneficial.
