Your mission


As Product Manager - Datacenters within Tractebel's Infrastructure Business Line, working on significant Data Center and infrastructure projects across Belgium, Luxembourg, and France. You will lead the management and implementation of Engineering Project Management Consultancy (EPMC) services. This role involves overseeing all aspects of project delivery, from initial planning and strategy to execution, and final handover. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive experience in the building sector, and a proven track record in managing large, multi-contractor projects.

 

Your key responsibilities 

 

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and external/internal stakeholders through formal (meetings, correspondence) and informal (relationship-building) communication.
  • Ensure client satisfaction and project performance in alignment with Tractebel's standards.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies for the continuous improvement of project activities, including team development, tool implementation, and process optimization.
  • Proactively identify, assess, and report potential risks or challenges to the Manager Buildings Belgium/Project Sponsor.
  • Manage project teams, establish project procedures, and ensure adherence to Tractebel and client standards.
  • Oversee the procurement of packages to contractors, ensuring competitive and transparent bidding processes.
  • Manage project controls, including budget management, cost tracking, and reporting.
  • Handle commercial and contract management, ensuring all terms are respected and disputes are managed effectively.
  • Oversee scheduling, construction management, QA/QC processes, commissioning, and handover activities.
  • Ensure the successful delivery of projects in terms of technical specifications, quality, and financial objectives.
  • Supervise and coordinate teams across Belgium, Luxembourg, and France to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop project teams through recruitment, technical training, and career development initiatives.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment to maximize performance.
  • Collaborate with the Infra Business Development & Sales team to drive business growth within the portfolio.
  • Identify and promote synergies with other Infra and Buildings entities to offer integrated service solutions to clients.
  • Expand the product turnover in Belgium, France, and Luxembourg.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients regarding project status and progress.
  • Manage and control project overhead costs to ensure project profitability and adherence to budgetary requirements.

 
We would love to hear from people with


 

  • A Master's degree in Engineering or Architecture, ideally with a complementary Master's degree in Business Administration or equivalent.
  • Comprehensive technical knowledge of the building sector.
  • Minimum of 20 years of relevant experience in the Building sector.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Project Manager on large-scale infrastructure construction projects, preferably involving multiple contractors.
  • Demonstrated experience in Data Center projects or similar large infrastructure projects is a plus.
  • Proven ability to coordinate and review proposal inputs from diverse stakeholders.
  • Fluency in French, Flemish, and English is essential.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage in both technical and managerial discussions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with empathy and the ability to effectively lead and motivate teams across different locations.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and innovation.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • A customer-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality, profitable solutions that meet client needs.
