Your working environment

 

As Contract Manager you are part of the “Procurement & Contract Management” group within the “Operational Performance” department of the Business Area Global Nuclear.

 

The group is in charge of the procurement for projects in compliance with the Procurement & Contract Management guidelines for Nuclear, as well as the project contract management in strong cooperation with the project team and with the support of the Legal department when required.

The Contract Manager is involved within the procurement process until the signature of a contract, supports the Tractebel Contract Owner and the Project Manager for contractual aspects during the execution of the contract.

 

The Contract Manager is reporting to the Procurement & Contract Management Group Manager.

  

Your function

As Contract Manager – NUCLEAR you participate in complex projects and you report hierarchically to the “Procurement & Contract Management” Group Manager and functionally to the
Project Manager. You contribute to and control the process of formalizing a contract and, once agreed and in effect, managing the contract during the contract life-cycle, in strong cooperation with our Legal department.

 

Your field of activity includes:

  • analyzing the terms & conditions of business (clients and/or Partners/suppliers) contracts and identifying risks, traps and opportunities;
  • drafting or analyzing specific contract clauses, in line with the Project Manager and/or the Business Management and Sales;
  • analyzing the proposals and contributing to the proposals clarification and comparison processes;
  • liaise with internal legal advisors;
  • raising awareness about QHSE principles in all contracts with clients and/or partners/suppliers about the importance of QHSE;
  • providing support to the Project team during the negotiation process;
  • reviewing the final contract drafting before signature;
  • advising the project team in all contractual and risk matters during contract execution;
  • performing specific assignments and providing expert support (e.g. in notifications, change orders, invoicing in handling of claims and contractual cases);
  • managing contract changes, and make proposal for mitigation in case of risk or conflictual matters;
  • participation to weekly technical meeting(s) and to monthly project management meetings;
  • preparing the Contract Management Plan and implementing the Contract Register tool;
  • sharing information and lessons learned on contracts with the Contract Management team.

 

 

Your profile 

  • You have a master of Science or Master in Industrial Sciences and at least 7 years of relevant experience in project management or in contract management.
  • Experience in Nuclear Area is an asset.
  • You are rigorous with respect to company expectations and guidelines.
  • You have strong organizational skills and are at ease with challenging situations.
  • You are committed to meeting the deadlines, project constraints, internal processes, and you care for quality and safety of all those involved in our projects.
  • You have a positive, dynamic and a problem solving attitude and are able to work in a team spirit.
  • You have good communication, assertiveness, decision making, questioning attitude and a strong desire to keep learning and being updated on last technologies.
  • You have good speaking, reading and writing skills in English and as second language French and/or in Dutch.
  • You are familiar with MS-Office software.
