Our role in
society

Our purpose is engineering a carbon-neutral future, and we have big ambitions to make a positive impact. In line with the ENGIE Group’s goal to achieve net zero carbon by 2045, we reduced our 2022 company emissions by 20% vs. 2019. Plans are in full swing for our ongoing initiatives. Going forward, we will continue to cut our emissions year-over-year as per COP21 recommendations, while neutralizing residual emissions. The success of our emissions reduction initiatives was officially recognized by Science-Based Targets initiative, a UN-backed global organization for ambitious corporate climate action. But our emissions goals are just the tip of the iceberg. Our corporate social responsibility (CSR) roadmap includes concrete actions gathered into four CSR Pillars: Environment, Labor Practices, Community Involvement, and Fair Operating Practices & Human Rights.

Thanks to these action plans, we aim to develop partnerships with local communities, annual solidarity projects, and implement zero-tolerance human rights and environmental standards across every link in our value chain.

We understand that flexibility is crucial to happy and productive teams. Our people are big fans of the work-life balance at Tractebel. Whether you’re an early bird or a night owl, you’re free to stagger your start time to fit your schedule. We also offer homeworking two to three days a week, from anywhere in Belgium.
